I rode a C-130 too S America one time. Everything vibrates and shakes to hell. There were a few seats along the wall near the opening to the ladder going up to the cockpit. They were better than the floor. Like you, I rode most of the time in a vehicle and occasionally in the seat behind the flight crew. It was as bad as the seating below.

The uh, facilities were primitive. I'd like to know who spent $300 for the seat on that thing.
