My 85' does not "clunk", but when it is below 45* outside, when I hit a "wavy" bump where both struts are compressed at the same time, it will make a "scrunching" noise. Not a big deal, because most every later model car I have owned in the past has done this. My 90' Lexus did and my mothers 97' Oldsmobile does this.

My older cars do not do it. My 73' Pontiac and 69' Chevrolet have super quiet suspensions.
