Hello Fellow Diesel Junkies!! I'm new to the forum and I had a question. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Right now I am the proud owner of an 83' 240d and 81 300sd. If anybody is interested in the 300 give me a call. $500 and you can have it. I live in the panhandle of Florida. Anyways, I have a buddy that works at a Benz dealership and he came accross a 1996 E300D with 69k miles. Only problem is that the check engine light is on and it says "Engine Electrical" I drove it and its drives great. Not a scratch on the whole car. I am kind of skeptical, because one would think why dont they just fix it there and resell it. My buddies answer was that they dont like anything older than 5 years because they cannot warranty it. This car is immaculate and its drives beautiful. Tomorrow I am going to bring it to a mechanic that I know and run a diagnostic. $10,800$ Would you buy it? and what do you think the problem is.
