Even beside's the warranty issue, I still don't understand why they don't fix the problem(s) underlying the "engine electrical" code. Sounds suspicious to me, though I'm given to suspicion. If you're okay with the car and are willing to take the risk with any problems underlying the code, I think are the first questions for you to address before proceding.
