I think I recall opening mine up 2 years ago, and if I remember right, you pry the crimped aluminum case around the base (the piece with the pins in it) outward with a thin screwdriver blade, then gently pull it off in an upward direction. Much like the cruise control box and 'cube' relays. Look at the pictures in the previous post's referenced thread and notice the groove around the base. I think that's where the metal edge is crimped into.
