I belive this is a Ford AXODE transmission. This probably is not something really expensive to fix but getting a transmission shop to actually diagnose it and do anything less than a full overhaul might be the difficult part. There are solonoide shift valves in that transmission that are probably going or a bad harness. This would only require removal of the side pan. A slightly difficult job.
