Never mind. I’ve found the problem. After a few minutes looking around on the WIS in the Fuel Injection and Ignition System section I found a paragraph as follows:

Vehicles as of 12/94 are fitted with an immobilizer stage 2. The immobilizer is now activated by the IRCL control module …. After activation of the immobilizer, the HFM-SFI control module deactivates the fuel injection system. The immobilizer can only be activated or deactivated by IRCL remote control. Opening and closing the car using the mechanical key does not affect the immobilizer….

I had the battery out of the car so I was using the mechanical key to lock and unlock it. Seems when I put the battery back in I should have locked and unlocked the car with the remote before trying to start it. It starts right up now.
