No you do not want to go dancing on a first date. If you could dance it would be OK but since you can't you don't want to be seen flopping around like a fool on the first date. Dancing = Sex. If you can't dance, she'll think you can't screw. On the first date you should do something you're good at so as to impress her.
No you should not spend 5 hours trapped in a car with her. The only way to do a proper road trip like that is an overnighter. You can't handle the overnighter.
Learn how to use chopsticks and take her for sushi or to a hibachi like Benihana. Go to an art house movie. Maybe a bar with live music or a concert

I agree with the dancing thing. I heard that somewhere else. Besides, it’s loud and very difficult to talk. Date talk is different than homework talk or shooting the breeze on the phone talk.
Not so sure on the Asian food thing. She may have been there with friends. I found a place here in Dallas called Gengis Grill. Went with friends and the food is great. Took my wife there on our first date.
Another really neat food experience if you like this kind of thing is Fon-due. Takes a while to eat dinner (2-3 hours) and it can be very fun. Food is really good at the place here in Dallas.
The way I read your question was that the Volvo swap meet is later in the year. I would not do that as a first date but after things get rolling … hell yea.
As far as dinner is concerned, I think someone above mentioned it but I would stick with what either you or her know. It would leave a bad impression if you end up at a place where the food or service sucks. Can ruin a perfectly good evening.
