That may be a good strategy however you will probably have to wait another 10 to 12 years before the new one fails.

You might want to repair the old one and keep it for a spare. Usually circular cracks develop around the soldered pins on the back of relay's circuit board. A couple of spots of fresh solder can make the relay as good as new.
