That should be your alarm siren. It is self powered. They will go off if the battery is dead. The only way to reset it is to plug it in to the car for a min.
of 10 minutes to recharge it. Then you need to cycle the keyless entry
to shut it off. The siren has a discrete CAN bus going to the alarm control
module. They have to talk to each other to turn it off, but if it is dead, it can't communicate. Your radio may need to be re-coded with the security code that came with the car.

Think the dealer is expensive? Do you know how much it costs to train a dealer tech? Or buy the required MB special tools to have on hand?
