I to had this problem. I fixed mine by looking under the drivers seat for a black cord. This cord sits in its own plastic housing. The cord was out of its housing on mine and it was just a simple matter of snapping it back into its housing. The light flashes because once the cord was out of its housing it would disconnect sometimes and cause the light to come on. Sorry for not having a technical answer with technical terms but take it for what it is worth.
