I'd love to stay under her policy if it was from a respectabal company... Its not IMHO

Its looking to me like I can get a progressive one for around $125 a month, but Its from a good company... Allstates website will NOT let me get a quote for a 82 f150 regular cab 4wd 2 door V8, I think its a glitch...
Assigned risk is a pool that you are cast into when you can't get insurance from any carrier under their standard policies. It typically applies when you have too many violations or accidents. I had thought it might apply to you because you never had your own policy before, so none of the companies would want to write it. But, clearly, you have found some that will write for a 16 year old with no driving history.........clearly a high risk on their part.

What draws you to the conclusion that Sentry is not a good carrier?? Problems paying legitimate claims??

The benefit of your own policy is the fact that there is no recourse to your mother if you should have a serious accident.

The rate of $125.00 per month does not sound excessive, but, I'm more familiar with NY rates, so I'm probably a poor judge.

I'd see what the cost would be if you were to be an additional driver under your mother's policy, for comparison sake.
