There are times that it's just simpler and quicker to buck-up and pay something just to avoid a battle over it. In my "day" job we pay for all sorts of things we don't owe just because the time and expense involved in fighting it exceeds anything we can recover by fighting it. Write-offs are part of doing business. My personal take is that I'd rather pay something small than eat up my time fighting over it...I figure I bill $100/hr, give or take, and don't see any point in sitting on hold for 30 minutes, burning cell minutes, over $15, unless the creditor has really annoyed me...then it's no longer a money issue, it's personal.
