I'm no pessimist, but it's another one of those God deals. There's no solution. God gave this land to the Jews – see Old Testament/Moses. The Jews ended that covenant when they killed Jesus and when God established a new Law with the Muslims. In this new one, whenever a land falls under the rule of Islam it forevermore belongs to God/Islam – see Koran. When and if people begin to move beyond what the clergy promotes then maybe mankind can get to a higher level.
