Wait. I thought that in 1996 Mercedes started to use the 5 Speed. My 1996 SL600 has the 5 speed trannie in it. We looked at a 1994 SL320, and it had a 4 Speed Autobox in it. I am pretty sure that they started to use the 5 speed in the 1996 models.
