Yes, cheapo Pep Boys/Advance Auto/Auto Zone generic spacers are crap, but there are spacers/adaptors that have been used on hi-po/racing Porsche/Audi/M-B/etc cars with zero negative effects...

Can we sticky this info so that anytime someone types in 'spacer(s)' or 'adaptors' that they are automatically directed to correct info? Seems that this query gets revisited every six months or so?

The "spacers are good/spacers are crap" discussion gets to be almost as fun as the "increase-boost & intercool-it-with-no-fuel-increase-yields-more-power" discussion... sigh...
