gber320, the hood release is under the dashboard below the emergency brake release ... it should be a red lever ... hinged in front and pulls down. When you release the hood a black safety latch release lever will project from the grill ... pull it straight forward before lifting the hood or the release lever may break. Once the hood is open you'll notice a red tab on the right (passenger side) hood latch ... pressing it allows the hood to open nearly vertical so you can easily access the engine.
