as a younger man I was run down by a car while riding my bike. When I landed, it was mouth first on the asphalt. It took out most of my anterior maxilla and the teeth therein. Many months later, during reconstructive procedures, the dentist/surgeon had to anesthetize my jaw so deeply that the needle perforated my nostril and he injected Novocaine in that cavity. That was before the technique of progressive injections for better dental comfort. I can still 'feel' the needle puncture my nasal passage and squirt down the back of my throat. *shudders* *squirms in seat*. I think the worst part is not being able to communicate the circumstance for all of the aparatus in my gob.
