Can anyone give any suggestion on removing the sensor/sender unit from the car. Mine is mounted through a little hole on the left side of the front bumper. I have the earlier style. 1987 300D Turbo W124.

Do I have to remove the bumper?

ALSO:
Can I tap off the Green/Yellow wire from the Hall Sensor as per electrical drawings in order to eliminate the false temp. display at low speeds/idle and run the wire to Pin # 4 on my 5-Pin display. I recently replaced my 4-Pin display to a used 5-Pin? Any experience?
