Yes, the rubber hoses. I'm not sure it's necessary to cut them. I leave everything intact as long as possible, that way hardly any brake fluid leaks out. I guess if the connectors can not be loosened with a line wrench then that would be an option, I've found that if I can get a line wrench on a fitting like that it will not be damaged.
