I don't doubt that the WBC hates gays in the military just as much as they hate gays in the insurance industry, but despite the link you posted their presence at military funerals isn't a commentary on the issue of gays in the military, it's a protest of American tolerance of homosexuality in general - they don't claim that the dead soldiers in question are gay. Witness the quote from the WBC's call to picket a funeral being held today:
"For the funeral of Army Sgt. XXXXX. God dispatched him to Hell with an IED on February 22, 2006. To anyone fighting in the US military, know this: in fighting for a fag nation, you are putting yourself in the crosshairs of an angry God. Watch out for IED's! "Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment." Job 19:29. Hoo ha!"
Sorry to quote these pricks, just making the point that if you want to discuss the issue of gays in the military in the thread, bringing in the WBC is taking you off course.
