93 500 SEL 140000 MILES

When transmission is placed in reverse -normal sounds- when car moves backwards-a strange sound is heard. It starts as a clicking noise and changes to a GRRRRRRRR as the car proceeds in reverse. The clicking noise only happens when the transmission fluid is cold. The GRRRRR sound is heard any time the car is moving in reverse.

Any ideas?????
