i did not do any work on it today, but i did take it for for a ride.the thing runs as smooth as glass when its above around 2000rpm (estimate) but is for sure not firing at all on #4 at idle. i filled the tank with fresh fuel and am running some more kleen through it.
can anybody else offer more info on those element nuts.....why whould there be a need to individually time the cylinders? and more important, how do you do that,i have done alot of IP timing and have never needed to mess with these things. there are two shims under the holder itself, one under each nut. Is the timing adjusted by lowering and lifting the holder via these shims?
and if so, what is the function of been able to turn the holder left or right?mine are exactly dead center (all four) but like i say, there is a provision to turn them a good 1/2 inch either way.
out af all the thousands of threads i have read on IP timing, you mean there is actually more to do with these element holders that also effects the timing on these engines?
