I have just bought my first mercedes, a 1989 190E. The extending ram which should support the hood has come apart. I have obtained a replacement but am not sure how it is meant to work. I know the catch near the hinges can be locked to hold the hood up (vertical). Is there anything simple I have missed or do I just need to fit the new prop ram?
