After a lot of tire kicking I purchased a 1980 300 SD off
a local car lot. It needs shocks and I had success with
the front end of car. Now on the rear the shock is inside
the spring. My coworker tells me the spring must be compressed
to replace old shock. Started to take seat out to access the top
of shock. Can anyone offer me some advise in this process?
