Hi, I have a 1995 Mercedes S420 Auto with an LPG conversion. About a year ago the gearbox started having computer problems and stopped changing smoothly. I had the gearbox reconditioned at £1700 and all was OK again... Until a few months ago when the box stopped changing gear properly and is stuck in "safe mode". I have had the computer reset at a merc garage but the problem comes back a day or so afterwards... The gearbox ECu has now been changed although Mercedes say they cannot program the replacement ECu to the car - Car runs fine just won't change gear and is stuck in safe mode which is gear set 3 on a 5 speed auto box

Can anyone offer some guidence, advice, assistance please
