If you are not careful, you can break the connector. I think the oil cooler for your 240D is only $200 ($280 for my 300SD).

I have never done this on mine, I don't think it's worth the risk of damaging the cooler to get the last few drops out. I change the oil hot, so hopefully the thermostat on the oil cooler is open and most of the oil drains to the pan. Does anyone else do it this way?
