The best thing they could do for their cause would be for everybody to dress in red, white and blue, wave American flags, and sing "America the Beautiful." That would be smart political propaganda.

A local (Los Angeles) Mexican morning DJ advocated just such a move. And in fact, some of the demonstrators were waving Old Glory. The same DJ also told parents to bring their kids to the demonstrations. Not a smart move.

The pro-illegal immigration demonstrators, and their advocates have framed their debate around two pivot issues: 1. free, unfettered immigration into the US is THEIR birthright and 2. anyone opposing them is a racist. bigoted "white" supremacist. As a derivative of point 1, above, they also claim that they have the right to full and complete access to all social services offered by the US, state and local governments.

I don't think our borders should be wide open. I also don't think that US taxpayers should be saddled with the cost of providing social services to illegal iimigrants and their families.
