That's why I always question M-B's recommended tirepressures.
Front = 28 p.s.i. ( weight of engine + 28 p.s.i. = underinflation = outside treadwear ).
Rear = 32 p.s.i. ( normally no weight in the back + 32 p.s.i. = overinflation = centre treadwear ).
Note: Pure speculation on my part.
