I'm fairly sure that you can swap heads on all the 617's of that vintage. I did have an issue......easily resolved..........with one of the ports for a temperature switch on the driver's side. The '85 had an additional temperature switch whereas the '84 simply had a socket head plug.

I removed the boss for the temperature switch and got the plug from the dealer after a struggle to get the part number...........thanks again to Ray for that.
