220K+ on a #14 head (knock on center console) The "off the lot" cost was just over $42k all said and done. Seems the trick is NEVER let it overheat and always use proper antifreeze. Here's an FYI, I've had two Ford Escort heads crack BEFORE going into red temp, know two guys who cooked Dodge/Mitsu heads the same way. Also, a relative bought a "new" Honda motor for a 6 year old car, ALL of these before 220K, seeing a pattern here and I'd be willing to bet NONE of them ever got the same reputation as the 124 head.
