Hello again, and I just want to say a quick thank you to whoever reads this and helps me out. I am convinced that the rheostat is my problem because no lights on my instrument cluster work (except blinker and coil light, seat belt and all those) But the instruments themselves do not light up, neither do the climate controls or the auto windows, rear defrost, sun roof..etc. I think I could follow the link posted about soldering a wire across the rheostat..but how do I get the cluster out of the dash? Could anyone direct me to a post on the forum where I could get help..thanks again
