C32AMG, Thanks for your help. I took a dose of courage and pulled the valve body, and backing plate off. So now it is all apart, time to reverse the process. There was one plastic longish wedge shaped piece that fell out onto the valve body plate, before I realized what was happening, hopefully I can relocate it's home... Once again Thanks, as never in my wildest imagination would I dig this far into a automatic transmission, yet if it works out, I may be willing to try it on the 86' Benz.
