It is very hard to describe it. It kind of sounds like a loose wheel. I have not had that checked. May be I should. It is not a buzzing noise but rather a whining one. You know, I am trying to compare the ride in my SL to my 96 BMW 740IL. My Benz mechanic tells me that is not a fair comparison. I should expect rough ride and a reasonable amount of rattling because the SL is a street car and it is not built like a luxury sport car. Frankly, none of this make sense to me. My car's engine is very strong but it is not quite.
