Nope. It would just turn the rock to glass (obsidian). I am no nuclear expert, but I can pretty much gurantee any nuclear blast would totally dominate anything you could put in the ground. Think of it this way: if you set off a nuke above a tank farm (oil storage) the blast would vaporize everything so having it there makes no difference.
