A followup on that, I decided to get the extra quart or two of synthetic. Put it in the engine with no problem, after letting the car cool down to about 70c. (too low?) Then changed everything out and replaced the filter. no leaks yet, but maybe someone could tell me how long it takes for leaks to appear?
