While not (most of the time, anyway) through overt means, the current administration has proven itself quite adept at suppressing speech via the hand-picked audiences they put in place for the public appearances of its members. Thankfully, they have not always met with complete success, and actual questions of substance have occassionally been posed - usually to the obvious dismay of the speaker.
