Timing Chain; Automatic Transmission "Breathing Holes"
In a 1985 300D Turbodiesel, should I worry about replacing the original timing chain at 180k miles?
Iam told that the automatic transmission (4spd) has "breathing holes" at the rear of the tranny near where it joins the driveshaft. If these holes get clogged it will start acting "funny" jerking etc.
Is this so and what does one have to do preventatively to keep the tranny happy?
