dang. I have a 5 gallon bucket PACKED with very fine hardwood ash (from my wood stove from last winter). I had just about reconciled spreading it out rather than making my own lye (which of course was why I've been saving it for 2 months) when you just have to bring this up.
Yow, I have enough projects already.
