Kimber seems to produce good handguns, but they're sure proud of them. I'm not sure what I'd use, but I rather like the compromise of the 40SW round, and would probably use that over 45ACP.
I only have two handguns now, and one of them is a .22 auto which hardly counts for anything tougher than paper. The other is a SW99 which I really like to shoot. I've put thousands of rounds through it at the range, and while it's not as accurate as some, it's good enough and very reliable.
