What's this? " WVO be finteres? 1 micron?"
Probably not mis-spelled as much as miss-typed. The writer should know he can edit his thread and correct that.
Anyway, if you have a good running SD, instead of hauling around a cube or two of WVO in the trunk, why not add it directly to the fuel tank - run it cold and run it clean. Always carry a set of filters along and the basic tools to change them. If not a set of filters, then at the very minimum one or two primary filters. Keep them clean and dry in a ziplock bag. As soon as you realize that the engine is down on power, stop and change that little filter. After you have changed a couple of them, with a screw driver you should be able to change it in two to three minutes, and if your car was running when you shut it down, it should fire up instantly.
As to how clean do you want your oil filtered, I would say clean enough that it doesn't foul the primary filter very often. If you would even have to change that little filter every 500 miles, you are not getting it clean enough. I am getting about 6000 miles on my primary. Not real good, but I can live with it.
