Nikki. To disconnect vacuum tubes use a hair dryer or heatgun on low setting and you shouldn't damage the tube, to refit immerse in hot water for a few seconds. If you just need to isolate a part of the vacuum system use a KLIPPIT ,as used for closing the necks of plastic bags, to clamp the tube.
