There may be black plastic covers over the rear of the rails and the gears that you need to remove to access the bolts. they are on the bottom of the mounting rails just fore of the arms that connect to them... with the seat fully up in the rear, and the covers removed, you should be able to get at them from the inside with a semi-deep 10mm socket.

A2 every thing you said I did! even the black covers, but the thing that stuck out was the "semi deep" this obviously is a special socket wrench?! because when I move the seat all the way up, the metal rails that the seat glide on are still covering the bolts they are tucked under black mounting brackets that are under the rails, that have some sort of motor next to them. even if I get a socket wrench in there I don't see how there is even enough room to rotate it!
