Wow my thoughts as an engineer. 1)3mm wall separation beween cylinders 2) reducing diesel ignition to 16.9/1 3) aluminum block All engineering kudos. The MB engineers may be in a run for their title to best designed diesel.

The negative - will this work in the sooty world of diesel ? I'm sure the block head and valve train will be rock solid, but I can't imagine this engine having low maintenance especially with its sensors and controls, like flap valves (similar to my 606.) My guess is this will be a typical Honda - great for 100k and then all h@@@ breaks loose, if it is not properly maintained.
