the type of compression tester was a cheap one the kind you hold to plug hole not a screw in type, i checked the 3rd cyl. it started to rise when first turning over engine, it turned 4 several seconds but never got 2 the min. compression lbs.
if i had dropped a valve wouldnt it be knocking, i also removed the valve cover just 4 a visual inspection couldnt see anything out of ordinary, also put in new rotary button and cleaned dist. cap
