Warren - just a heads-ups when you pull the tank screen.
I drove my 300-SEL 'til the low fuel warning light came on, then drove another 20 mi. In spite of this, approx. 2.5 gals. of fuel was left in the tank.
I pulled the big hose that goes from the base of the tank to the fuel pump off at the fuel pump end first, then let the tank drain into a large pan.
