Hello all,
I was taking my granddaughter to school this morning, and when I turned right into the parking lot, the left front wheel 'A' frame rear mount broke, causing the wheel to assume about a 40 degree angle with the top of the tire out and the bottom tucked under the car. Fortunately, I was only going a few miles an hour at the time. Is this failure the same type as the recall repaired? I'm wondering if the recall goes through the year '82? The mounting tab, for lack of a better name, is made of a single thickness of fairly thin metal, and broke in half. From the rust on the break, it appears that one side broke sometime in the past. I'd appreciate any and all information regarding the recall that you might have!
This afternoon I chained up the A frame so it wouldn't drag on the ground and my brother and I loaded it on his car dolly and towed it home. I'd like to just tow it on into a dealer if the recall is in effect for the car!
