I saw a documentary called Trekkies about Star Trek fanatics in which this one guy spent like two years and lots of money making a replica of a "life support wheel chair" that was featured in one of the episodes. Basically it was a sleek, black, motorized wheel chair that comes up to the neck and has lights on it. The guy wasn't disabled either. This (and the "James Bond jet boat") strikes me as the same sort of thing. A lot of wasted money and effort. I mean, who wants a fast sports car that looks like an old station wagon?
