Here in California we have to smog test cars.
The rules change, over the last 30 years we have been asked to do it
every two years. Sometimes at a state testing center, sometimes at a private run facility. A little game we play.

Except for Diesel cars.

I went from a corvette to my 300D, and I felt a lot of similarity,
4 wheel independant suspension with four wheel disc brakes.

For me, a desirable car would be a small block chevy in a MB diesel frame.

No bi-annual smog checks, and all the fun over-cammed street rod motor I could hope for.

Don't get me wrong, I love my diesel motors, but I keep thinking about a gas
motor in that diesel registered frame.
