The hub and the rotor do come apart. I promise you. Just did it on my SDL (which is exactly like my old SEL). once you have the allen bolts loose fromthe inside of the hub, you have to stand the rotor us on something stable that will also somewhat support the hub. Grab a bunch of chisels. try to "gently" jhammer them betweent he hub and rotor. The hub is tapered toward the rotor as I recal so you have a natural place to put the tool. Pound a little here and a little there. Work you way around. Eventually, a gap will start to open up between the two pieces. When it does, slide a screwdriver or something in the gap to keep it from closing while you pound further around. Soon you will have the two apart. Oh, and be carefull around the "toothed part. that is the tone ring for the ABS. the ABS sensor sees the ring as a series of pulses and feeds them to the ABS computer. Youcan gently clean them with a brass wire brush and some solvent if dirty. (usually are). This is where your ABS light issues can come from.
